Abstract: This dissertation examines Hannah Arendt's analysis of racism, comparing her approach to the subject in two of her works: The Origins of Totalitarianism and Reflections on Little Rock. In the first work, Arendt examines how antisemitism was used as a mechanism of oppression and discrimination during Imperialism and in Nazi Germany. In the latter, she assesses racial segregation in the United States, highlighting the nature of power and the consequences of denying fundamental rights to certain groups. In both cases, the author explores how both forms of discrimination reflect the transformation of racism into state policy. The main focus of this text is on how Hannah Arendt's perspective, as a white Jewish woman, influenced her reflections on both socio-political contexts and how this shaped her views on American racism and European antisemitism. It is argued that the author's analysis of American desegregation is flawed, neglecting crucial aspects of the Black community's civil rights struggle due to a superficial analysis of the movement.
