An experiment utilizing 960 Dekalb White layers of 24 weeks of age during four periods of 4 weeks each, with a completely randomized design in a factorial scheme constituted of 2 levels of calcium and phosphorus (Ca 3.8% P 0.36% and Ca 3.2% and 0.3%) and 5 different associations between the two phases of vitamin D (1. 100% D3, 2. 75% D3 25% 25-OHD3, 3. 50% D3 and 50% 25-OHD3, 4. 25% D3 and 75% 25-OHD3, 5. 100% of 25-OHD3.) and 8 replicates per treatment was conducted. The daily egg yield (%O), feed intake (CR), egg weight (PO), egg loss percentage per break (%OQ) and calculated egg mass (MO) and feed conversion per gram of egg (CAGr). At the end of each period were performed analyses of specific weight (PE), percentage of white (%CL), yolk (%G) and shell (%CO) of the eggs and at the end of the experiment, a layer per replicate was slaughtered to undertake the bone densitometry analysis (DEN) and content of ashes (%CZ), calcium (%Ca) and phosphorus (%P). There was no interaction (P>0.05) among the sources of variation for performance and egg quality. Differences were found for performance for all the variables except for PO, (P<0.01), with relation to the levels of Ca and P, in which the best results were obtained with the use of 3.8% of Ca and 0.36% of Pd. The differences in CR and CAGr suggest a better performance of the associations of sources of vitamin D studied (P<0.05). Association with up to 50% of 25-OHD3 and the highest level of Ca and Pd increased %CO. There was an interaction (P<0.01) between levels of Ca and Pd and the sources of vitamin D for %CZ, %P and DEN, verifying a distinct response of the sources according to the level of Ca and Pd of the diet; and increased %Ca when 3.8% of Ca and 0.36% of Pd were fed.
