Dez anos de institutional work: uma revisão bibliométrica e sociométrica

Abstract

Sociological institutionalism represents one of the main research approaches and traditions in the context of Organizational Studies. From the focus on institutions and their relationship with individuals in social fields (especially organizational), different trends have been developed since the second half of the 20th century. Among such approaches, we highlight the one that explores the so-called Institutional Work, whose main directions aim to investigate purposeful actions of individuals, aimed at the creation, maintenance and rupture of institutions. Considering the growth of publications that address Institutional Work in the last decade, the main objective of this article is to identify and describe the relationships between researchers and their research topics related to institutional work. The research is characterized as a systematic review, descriptive and qualitative in nature. Considering the different possibilities that revision works present, the bibliometric and sociometric focus on the scientific production on institutional work between the years 2006 and 2017 was delimited. It was concluded that the institutional work constitutes a research effort with solid relationships among others institutional currents, without a break with macro theory, a large presence of empirical studies, demonstrating the strong foundation in previous institutional currents.
