Dinâmica da distribuição diamétrica de Araucária angustifolia em um remanescente de Floresta Ombrófila Mista no Paraná

Abstract

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo estudar a adequação de diferentes modelos de distribuição probabilística na caracterização da estrutura diamétrica de Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze em floresta natural, além de avaliar a dinâmica da estrutura diamétrica no período de 1995 a 2014. Os dados são oriundos de inventário contínuo de três parcelas permanentes com um hectare cada, localizadas no município de São João do Triunfo, Paraná. Para avaliar a distribuição diamétrica dessa espécie foram ajustadas diversas funções densidade de probabilidade, sendo a qualidade do ajuste verificada através do teste de Kolmogorov-Smirnov. A função SB Johnson foi a de melhor desempenho em todos os anos, mas com dificuldade na representação das classes de menores diâmetros. Em relação à dinâmica das distribuições avaliadas, a espécie apresentou uma distribuição decrescente no início do período avaliado, mas com tendência à alteração da distribuição com acentuação da assimetria positiva, sendo necessário um maior período de estudo para acompanhamento dessa dinâmica. Foi constatada diferença estatística entre as curvas no período estudado, corroborando a hipótese de evolução na distribuição diamétrica da A. angustifolia.

ABSTRACT: This work aimed to study the suitability of different models of probability distribution to characterize the diameter structure of Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze in natural forest, as well as evaluating the dynamic of diameter distribution for the period 1995-2014. The data were taken from a continuous inventory of 3 permanent sample plots of 1 hectare each, located in São João do Triunfo, Parana, Brazil. Various probability density functions were adjusted to evaluate the diameter distribution of the species and the quality of the adjustments checked by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The SB Johnson function presented the best performance in all years of the experimental evaluation, but with some restrictions related to the smaller diameters classes. Regarding the dynamics of distributions evaluated, the species showed a decreasing distribution at the beginning of the study period, but with a tendency to move gradually to normality, requiring a longer study period for monitoring this dynamic. There was significant statistical difference between the curves during the study period, supporting the hypothesis of a diameter distribution evolution for A. angustifolia.
