The most consumed bean in Brazil is the carioca. However, there has been interest of the consumer for other sorts of grains, the growing of which will be able to represent new income option to the farmers. For this purpose, it is necessary to adapt the current systems of crop production inclusive the recommendations about population density. So, the aim of this work was studying the performance of the alternative bean plant cultivars in the South and CenterWest regions of Minas Gerais by means of better plant populations for its cultivation.pt_BR
