dc.description.abstractThis research aimed to determine the elemental chemical composition and the estimate of the lower heating value of wood in different Eucalyptus clones. Two trees of 15 clones planted in a clonal test in the company Votorantim Bioenergia, located in Vazante-MG, were evaluated. The elemental chemical composition and the estimate of the lower heating value of wood clones were determined. The results indicated that the clones 280/75, 16/JC and 299/ 75 have the greatest potential for use as an energy source. The clones 16/JC and 299/75 were the most important, because they showed higher hydrogen and lower nitrogen content, lower C/N ratio and higher estimate of lower heating value (LHV), while the clones 38/JC (47.21%) and 62/JC (47.35%) showed the lowest carbon contents and lower estimates of LHV.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoO objetivo do presente trabalho foi determinar a composição química elementar e a estimativa do poder calorífico inferior da madeira em diferentes clones de Eucalyptus. Foram avaliadas duas árvores de 15 clones, plantados em teste clonal na empresa Votorantim Bioenergia, localizada em Vazante-MG. Os resultados indicaram que os clones 280/75, 16/JC e 299/75 apresentam maior potencial para utilização como fonte de energia. Destes destacaram-se os clones 16/JC e 299/75, por terem apresentado maior teor de hidrogênio, menor teor de nitrogênio, baixa relação C/N e elevada estimativa do poder calorífico inferior (PCi). Já os clones 38/JC (47,21%) e o 62/JC (47,35%) foram os que apresentaram os menores teores de carbono e as menores estimativas de PCi.pt_BR
