| dc.description.abstract | The objective of this paper is to verify the concentration of sugarcane agro-industry in Minas Gerais State from 1996/1997 to 2005/ 2006 harvests. The results (CR4 and CR8 , Hirschmann-Herfindahl index, Rosenbluth, and entropy index) have demonstrated an increase of concentration related to sugarcane production. This increase of concentration - occurred mainly due to the growth of the biggest companies – can be explained from the restructuring of the industry based on increasing competitiveness. | |
| dc.description.resumo | Objetivou-se, neste trabalho, verificar a concentração na agroindústria canavieira do Estado de Minas Gerais, durante as safras 1996/1997 a 2005/2006. Os resultados (obtidos via CR4 e CR8, índices de Hirschmann-Herfindahl, de Rosenbluth e entropia) apontaram para um aumento da concentração da produção de cana. Esse aumento da concentração, dado principalmente mediante crescimento das empresas de grande porte, justifica-se pela reestruturação do setor baseada no aumento da competitividade. | |
