dc.description.abstractThis article aims to discuss the trajectory of an English teacher when choosing her profession and the meanings she constructs. That trajectory is narrated through an autobiography, which is analyzed based on concepts of identity and human development. Through this paper, excerpts from the teacher’s narrative are also analyzed based on Systemic Functional Linguistics, with instruments provided by the Appraisal, in order to support the interpretations. As a result, both narrative and linguistic analysis of the narrative indicate the plurality in the formation of teacher identity, therefore, recognizing the existence of influential elements, which do not define a complete and finished subject.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoO presente artigo objetiva discutir a trajetória de uma professora de língua inglesa na escolha de sua profissão e nos significados que constrói. A trajetória é rememorada por meio de uma autobiografia e analisada com base em construtos de identidade e desenvolvimento humano. No decorrer do trabalho, excertos da narrativa da professora são analisados também com base na linguística sistêmico-funcional, especificamente, com instrumentos disponibilizados pela Avaliatividade, visando respaldar interpretações. Como resultado, tanto o narrar como a análise linguística apontam para a pluralidade na constituição da identidade docente, reconhecendo, portanto, a existência de elementos influenciadores, porém não definidores de um sujeito completo e terminado.pt_BR
