dc.description.abstractThe eucalyptus wood, as in most of the hardwood, presents internal tensions along to the trunk, which appears after felling the trees, in varied intensities, according to the species. This study evaluated the longitudinal residual deformations (DRL) existent in a hybrid clonal of Eucalyptus urophylla x Eucalyptus grandis, in two ages and coming from coppicing and from a replanting. It was used the Growth Deformation Meter of CIRAD-Forêt. The results showed that trees of the coppicing condition and age of 70 months presented to smallest variability among the four cardinal positions; the trees planted in the largest spacing in the replanting condition and age of 70 months presented the greatest variability among the cardinal positions.
dc.description.resumoA madeira de eucalipto, como a maioria das folhosas, apresenta ao longo de seu tronco tensões internas que se manifestam após a derrubada das árvores, em intensidades variadas, conforme a espécie. Assim, este estudo teve como objetivo principal estudar as deformações residuais longitudinais existentes em um híbrido clonal de Eucalyptus urophylla x Eucalyptus grandis, de duas idades e provenientes de regeneração de povoamentos por talhadia simples e reforma sob diferentes sistemas de desbaste, utilizando-se o Medidor de Deformação de Crescimento do CIRAD-Forêt. Pelos resultados, verificou-se que as árvores provenientes da condição de talhadia e idade de 70 meses apresentaram a menor variabilidade entre as quatro posições cardinais avaliadas; as árvores plantadas no maior espaçamento na condição de reforma e idade de 70 meses apresentaram uma variabilidade superior entre as posições cardinais.
