Análise da Estrutura Organizacional das Organizações Não Governamentais Ambientais de Minas Gerais

Abstract

This work aims to analyze the organizational structure of environmental Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, through the evaluation of a questionnaire applied to its members, presenting concepts and discussing improvements, in order to identify the level of management in which the NGOs are. Therefore contributing to the enrichment of studies on the management of NGOs and helping to make the performance of NGOs more effective. Based on the results, discuss and propose improvements to assist environmental NGOs in Brazil. The answers obtained by the questionnaire were compiled and divided into four themes: general information; strategy and organizational culture; organizational climate; and discursive questions. The results show a heterogeneity in the organizational structure of the NGOs and the way these organizations operate. In conclusion, for environmental NGOs to perform their activities more effectively, it is essential to have an efficient and organized management; raise public awareness of the NGOs activities, benefitting organization and society mutually; encourage actions to strengthen the identity of NGOs; and expand investments through donations and partnerships.
