Abstract: This study aimed to construct, test and evaluate an interdisciplinary project work in a field school using information and communication technologies. The project was based on the principles of Rural Education, using interdisciplinary as perspective for constructing knowledge and employing information and communication technologies. We developed a pedagogical intervention project in a school in the midwest of Minas Gerais, Brazil, using a descriptive and qualitative approach. The research sample consisted of ten students and three teachers of the 1 st year of high school. The participant observation, semi-structured interview, field journal and blog were the instruments and data collection of the project. A project collectively built for field students should be based on the principles and foundations of Rural Education and begin with an issue to be solved in the daily lives of the students. We found that the curricular content approached within an interdisciplinary perspective of knowledge construction improves the quality of student learning, enabling them to construct new knowledge. In order for the project to not become a new teaching strategy that leads the students to only replicate information, the use of technology requires critical analysis of the teacher and should be planned according to the proposed learning objectives for the content. The success of an interdisciplinary work project requires teachers involved to be motivated and have time available to participate in study courses and collective planning. The initial and, in particular, continued training of the teachers who work in field schools is essential for the full formation of the students who study in this geographical condition.
