Abstract: Soccer, the world´s most popular sport, has a primary role in capitalist society, increased media attention, people´s interest and moves trillions of dollars a year. Although there is a favorable scenario in the world, in Brazil, the owners of the "product", the clubs are in serious difficulties, reflecting its position of inferiority in the network. In that sense, this theoretical essay has aimed at discussing the issue of the declining power of the Brazilian soccer club from the perspective of interorganizational networks, taking into consideration the history and sociological explanation of Pierre Bourdieu to the phenomenon. Conclusively, in a strategic perspective, one can consider the setting in "horizontal networks" as a means to achieve certain ends, achieving certain objectives that would rarely be met individually, however, although the economic motivations (structural configuration of networks) are the main dimension in terms of its constitution requires a special attention to the processes and the contingencies that determine the connections, links or links between social partners (functional configuration of networks).
