Abstract: In recent years, many farmers are seeking to adopt precision agriculture to increase the efficiency of their production systems, by identifying the variability that affects the yield. One of the most limitations to the growth and development of plants factors is soil moisture, influenced by many factors, including soil clay content. This study aimed to evaluate, using descriptive statistics and geostatistics, the variability of gravimetric soil moisture and clay content of a coffee farm in Três Pontas – MG, in different layers of depth. For all variables, it was not possible to identify the variability in the crop only through descriptive statistics. Regarding geostatistics, all variables showed a strong spatial dependence, allowing the creation of thematic maps. Comparing thematic maps, it was observed that regions with the lowest clay content have lower values of gravimetric moisture.
