Abstract: Groundwater may be susceptible to contamination by excessive use of pesticides applied in tomato crops. In this sense, a contamination risk assessment study of groundwater by used substances is recommended. This study aimed to estimate the risk of contamination to drinking water by fungicides applied on tomato crop. Therefore, we carried out a survey of the main active ingredients recommended for culture. Soon after this step, the physicochemical properties of the active ingredients of the fungicides were raised. And the GUS and GIS indexes were calculated. Of the 24 active ingredients registered with the Ministry of Agriculture of Brazil studied for the GUS index 70% do not leach and 30% are in the transition range. Regarding the GSI 41.7% rate should receive special treatment, 37.2% can promote a possible contamination and 20.8% impossible contamination.
