Abstract: The formation of the university teacher has been understood, by virtue of tradition and ratified the legislation as regards the knowledge of the content of education. Being a teacher in higher education, however, is not just a matter of content domain. The pedagogical practice of teaching is complex and contextualized. With this understanding, efforts will be made, in this academic essay, in the sense of arguing for the importance of teacher training, seeking grants in education to develop the argument. The objective is to know how the pedagogical training of university professor is treated by the law and the academic literature.
