Abstract: Political relations are always present in the social interaction between individuals within a society. Thus, the importance of political historical knowledge for the understanding of the identity of the being is clear. It is crucial as well for the social actors to perceive themselves as components of a historical and political context. So, the political knowledge must be discussed. Over that picture, a minicourse on Brazilian Political History was taught by alumni of the Institutional Program of Teaching Initiation (PIBID), offered during the “I First Training Conference for Teachers and Professors” of the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA). The political relationship begins with the relationship between thinking and able-to-communicate human beings. This association could result in conscient choices in everyday life. However, we cannot consider the verbal language as the only expression of individuals political relation. The arts constitute expressions of a set of opinions on the context of the author. To elucidate the contents seen as dense to common sense, the speakers used songs and poems as pedagogical resources to treat the subjects in a relaxed manner. The songs and poems constituted saids of the lyrical I of differente epochs in brazilian history. From these expressions, the minicourse participants sought to build an historical trajectory of politics. The present work seeks to disseminate music as a possible path in the teaching of themes of great importance in our political history. To evaluate the event, the Speaker asked participants to write their impressions on the minicourse and things they thought could be improved. These contributions were the object of analysis for the article. It is observed from the talks of listeners of the practice reported that music facilitates the process of teaching and learning and still manage to expand the scientific character of knowledge to the social reality.
