Abstract: Here are some considerations on the relationship between the teaching work and the impacts caused in the lives of the public teachers of a city in Minas Gerais/Brazil. This is an exploratory qualitative study; data were collected in the form of semi-structured interview and treated from the content analysis. We opted for a biographical cut with the experiences of three teachers; it was found that many are the challenges faced by teachers, factors that may result in various psychological costs. We showed that gender relations established in teaching environment are beyond the act educate, creating many challenges for professional teachers who are in the classroom.
