Abstract: | The present paper aims to study the genre virtual forum, also called e-forum discussion board, newsgroup, mailing list, mailing list and newsgroup. The survey consists of a theoretical study of the text genres and, more specifically, of the genre virtual forum, a very common discursive practice. This genre is usually characterized by its opinion-like, argumentative nature and shows positions that are legitimated in certain communities. For such, the following authors were studied Dolz and Schneuwly (2004), Ali (2004); Costa (2008). In addition to the theoretical study, an analysis of texts produced in virtual forums disciplines of an undergraduate degree was made. This analysis aimed to analyze the linguistic and discursive features of this genre as well as the approach to the posted content. From the analysis undertaken we identified different degrees of formality, different degrees of commitment to the words, different ways of dealing with content, which points to a need for a more systematic reflection on the use of this tool in the teaching-learning process. |
