| Abstract: | This study discusses the ways of manipulation of event by language-discursive strategies in journalistic texts. To carry out this research, it was selected as a corpus analysis a text published in ”Folha de S. Paulo” Newspaper whose theme is the case of “ditabranda”, neologism used to refer to the Brazilian dictatorship (1964-1985). In this text, we based on Charaudeau studies (2007) about the construction of the event in the media and we apply the categories produced by Abramo (2003) on patterns of manipulation. The existence of these standards is confirmed in our analysis and we concluded that the “Folha de S. Paulo” Newspaper constructed a manipulated verbatin fact, more precisely in respect to this new. |
