Abstract: In this paper, we will expose some aspects of the Leibnizian approach to causality, in its metaphysical and phenomenal aspects. We will show the development of Leibniz’s ontology, including his position in the face of ancient and modern philosophy because he is not convinced that his contemporaries have consistent principles to understand the reality and actions of beings in the world. Leibniz asserts the need to recover classical concepts, especially the substantial forms. We will see Leibniz crossing borders of different traditions to construct his conceptions about the cause of the world’s reality, the causes inside the beings and the causality we perceive through our senses.
