Abstract: The objective of this study was to produce laminated composites with plaster matrix, faces of jute mat with the incorporation of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% of cellulosic pulp contents. The incorporation of cellulosic pulp and jute blanket aims to partially replace the plaster with vegetable fibers that are non-toxic. The composites were evaluated through physical and mechanical tests. In view of the results, the moisture of the composite increased with the addition of the cellulosic pulp content added. For water absorption (AA) the composites with the addition of 5% of pulp had the lowest content. While the thickness swelling test (IE), the 7.5% treatment showed less swelling. In relation to MOR, all treatments obtained the minimum required by norm. And the other treatments such as flexion and compression there was no statistical difference. This implies a promising opportunity for the manufacture and commercialization of plasterboards with cellulosic pulp and jute blanket for various products, such as ceilings, coatings, blocks etc., in addition to reducing the use of plaster, it enhances the use of waste generated Brazilian agribusiness.
