Abstract: This study aims to analyze the relevance of the ethical teaching approach based on the teaching of Freirean Environmental Education for advancing the fight against environmental imbalance in the context of EJA. The methodology involved a critical review and reflection on published literature on the subject, taking Paulo Freire's theory as a basis for critical reflection on environmental education through the teaching of ethics. At the end of the study, it was found to be crucial to elevate the role of schools in contemporary society and prepare them for the new era, whether through new channels of school justice, reintegrating students into the school environment rather than pushing them away, and opening it up to plurality, considering diverse cultures and experiences. In order for schools to problematize reality and foster critical thinking among students with autonomy of thought, it is relevant to address the necessary knowledge for this purpose. Pedagogical knowledge encompasses scientific, pedagogical, didactic, aesthetic, ethical, and political dimensions, while affectivity and emotions are integral to this process. Freire's ethical, pedagogical, and liberating approach to life emerges as a critical response to social problems and as a quest for a more just and egalitarian society, where everyone has the opportunity to be active and free agents in their own history.
