Abstract: This paper aims to analyze the use of Information Technology in the public schools of basic education in Uberlândia, MG. Initially a literature review was performed looking at the historical evolution of computer technology applied to education in Brazil. Then, it was carried on a qualitative research through questionnaires sent to teachers who work in the computer labs in these schools. From this research, there were several initiatives to encourage the use of digital technologies in education, besides that, there is a concern with the organization of work and the educational process in the use of technology in the computer labs. It is concluded that the use of digital technology in the public schools is contributing to digital inclusion of their students and teachers.
