Aplicação do método FMEA na identificação de impactos ambientais causados pelo descarte doméstico de medicamentos

Abstract

One of the biggest public health problems is the issue of improper disposal of products with expiration dates, as the chemicals present in medications have the potential to contaminate soil and water when disposed of, for example, garbage or to sewer. The aim of this study was to use the FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) to identify and detect failures, hazards and effects, and establish ways of prevention, resolution and compensation of faults detected. With the application of FMEA, we obtained the identification of modes / causes of potential failures to the environment related to domestic stocks, the effects on the environment and health and to identify procedures that should be controlled to reduce the occurrence or improving the efficiency detection of failures.
