Abstract: | The presence of melamine in dairy products pose a risk to consumer health, damage to the dairy sector and higher government spending on health, because this substance that causes damage to the renal tubules and lead to renal failure. Therefore this study aimed to discuss the risks of contamination of dairy products with melamine and influence on consumer health. We conclude that the presence of high concentrations of melamine in food is not natural, indicates the practice of fraud and poses risks to the health of consumers, especially children, thus underscoring the need for rapid and effective action from the regulatory authorities in the prevention of adulteration |
