Abstract: The scope of this work was to analyze the applicability of management tools associated with technical assistance, as well as its potentials and limitations in the dairy activity of family economy properties in Vale do Acre, in the Western Amazon. Specifically, it was intended to: a) perform a diagnosis of dairy farms; b) diagnosing the socio-economic profile of the ranchers of milk; c) validate a diagnostic form of milk production systems; d) apply management tools aiming at sustainability of properties. The survey was conducted between the months of March 2016 and 2017, in 100 rural properties. The data were collected using a diagnostic form of dairy properties and a socio-economic form. From these, were defined the weaknesses of each of the properties through management tools Brainstorming and Array GUT. In possession of the weaknesses, 30 properties were selected, through non-probability sampling for trial, to use management tools such as: Ishikawa diagram, 5W2H, MASP and PDCA, Pareto diagram, in order to fix weaknesses and assist rural producers on better management of your property. Regarding the Organization and analysis of the data was used SPSS® software and McNemar statistical test. Among the 20 most rated weaknesses, management tools, 5W2H PDCA and the Ishikawa diagram generated significant results in addressing the problems, along with the accompanying technical advisory officers. It was concluded that it is possible to adapt and apply management tools for dairy farming and the productive factors, reproductive rights and health found on the crawled properties show the need for improvement in management. In addition, there is a need for actions aimed at improving the education of the rural population.
