Abstract: The formation of coffee plants healthy is extremely important for the formation of homogeneous stand, after transplanting to the field .Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the response of coffee seedlings inoculated with cercospora in function of increasing concentration of phosphorus. Was installed the experiment in a randomized block design with four replications, with six treatments, namely: five phosphorus levels (0.2, 0.4, 0.8, 1.6, 3.2 kg of superphosphate) and witness received no phosphorus. The seedlings were inoculated with Cercospora – Cercospora coffeicola, when they have three pairs of leaves at a concentration of 1.5 x 104 conidia ml/L-1. The intensity cercospora was quantified by counting the number of plants affected by the fungus into five fortnightly assessments. The characteristics evaluated were: plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, number of diseased leaves, dry mass of shoot and root system. It was found that a dose of 0.2 kg of normal superphosphate, the coffee plants had a larger number of healthy plants. The phosphorus doses tested were not effective in controlling the fungus.
