Abstract: The contribution of this work is to present the outsider career conception from the occupations present in the CBO. Thus, the objective of this paper is to analyze the classification of CBO as a process of labeling identifying careers that can be described as outsiders. The concept of an outsider career is a behavior considered outside normal standards, that is, a career with some legal protection or not, with irregular work hours and specific characteristics and lifestyle (BECKER, 2008). This approach is relevant, since it seeks to understand the career under a sociological perspective, contemplating the process of social interaction. To do so, we used a qualitative methodology, with content analysis in the CBO secondary data. The findings show the process outsiders careers labeling, in which 11 occupational families were identified, with 33 occupations with outsider career characteristics. At the end, the research limitations and suggestions for future work are presented.
