Abstract: This project consists of the development of a standard model for a mixed metal bridge using a span ranging up to 15 meters. The project was developed with the aim of reducing problems faced in Nova Serrana – MG. These problems are mainly caused by the continuously growth of the city and the lack of solutions in their existing infrastructure, a nuisance for the local citizens. First, small lake geometry was analyzed in places that had 15 meters gaps and could benefit from the construction of these bridges. After this initial analysis, a floor plan was drawn with AutoCAD® software. Then, with the draw in hand, the CYPECAD® software was used to, process the structural calculations of the bridge. The software provided all measures of the slabs and the beams, the longitudinal and tranverses. In addition, all the structural calculations were also made by hand regarding the NBR 8800/ABNT standard provided at the end of the project with a descriptive contrast between those two approaches. Through this comparison, it was perceived that the computer program was efficient, since all the data yielded were effective and safe concerning the technical standards. However, an oversizing of the main beam as a result of the loads applied on it was noticed. This size can be explained by the different combinations adopted in both approaches. The calculations made by hand did not take into account concrete cracking, shear stress on the connectors, stresses generated on the links, among others factors.
