| Abstract: | The objective of this work is to analyze how alternative methodologies help build knowledge, based on an experience in the Biology Teaching Methodology course of the licentiate course in Biological Sciences of the Federal University of Lavras-MG. The practice consisted in constructing the concept of Origin of Life from the use of Roleplaying game (RPG) as pedagogical strategy. At the end of the practice it was proposed that the students make a written evaluation. These reports were used for the analysis of the present study, through the qualitative research method. The results show the efficiency of the pedagogical methodology in aiding the construction and appropriation of the concept taught and, in addition, also show the importance of the discipline in the initial formation of teachers. |
