Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the physical-mechanical properties of particleboard from pine, with different levels of paraffin. To this, were produced in laboratories panels of pine wood Pinus oocarpa paraffin and concentration of 0; 1; 1,5 and 2%. We evaluated the quality of the panels through its physical and mechanical properties, as recommended by standard American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM, 1999) and Deutsches Ins Titut fur Normung (DIN, 1982), respectively.From the results it can be stated that with the increase of the percentage of paraffin the better dimensional stability and increased compression resistance. For the bending properties (MOE and MOR) and tensile perpendicular, there was no significant variation in their values with increasing concentrations of paraffin.
