Abstract: Nowadays being satisfied with our own quality of life is a personal satisfaction that involves a range of factors such as self-esteem, performance ability, comparison with others, knowledge and previous experiences, economic conditions, general health and emotional condition. During the academic life people go through constant adaptation to different situations, which may come to influence their quality of life. The aim of this study was to assess the quality of life of students in physical education, comparing men and women. To develop the work 253 students (21 ± 2.6 years-old) represented by 124 men (21 ± 2.5 years-old) and 129 women (21 ± 2.7 years-old) were evaluated by applying the WHOQOL-bref proposed by World Health Organization and validated in the Brazilian population. The questionnaire permits the evaluation of four domains in quality of life: physical, psychological, social relationships and environment. Considering the classification of the level of quality of life, it was observed that men are considered "satisfied" and women "undefined". The results show that men have better quality of life than women, and this was due to higher scores in physical and psychological domains.
