Abstract: | This paper aims to relate the studies conducted by the Center for Studies in Education, Culture and Society (Neecs) of the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) on the history of Brazilian music, in particular African nuances. The activities started in July 2017 and involve all students of the Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (Pibid) of the UFLA Biological Sciences course. The core had as its main means of communication a Facebook group open to anyone interested in what posts were made and from them from studies. As final syntheses of the musical convergences found in this study, are available were: maxixe, choro and samba. The latter sought to describe a second timeline from its first recording “By Phone”. This samba timeline features Donga, Pixinguinha, João da Baiana. Mr. Ismael Silva, ending the journey with Noel Rosa. From the study, it was possible to realize the great potential of music in teacher education and in understanding the history of the formation of Brazilian society. |
