Abstract: Videogame studies are gaining space in academic research, along with the growing perception of how these cultural objects are responsible for the circulation of discourses in society. Polemics involving games and gender relations are frequent. Given this scenario, the present article aims to explore and analyze the construction of the identity discourse about and the female gamer, from the theoretical framework of the Bakhtin Circle. Thus, it discusses the corpus collected on the social network Twitter and reflects on the discursive and identity considerations about what is to be a woman and a gamer in the contemporary world. As preliminary results, it was observed, that the identity of the female gamer is still being dialogically negotiated more through denial of what they are not, than in the affirmation of what they are – videogame players.
