Resumo: Nowadays, the exchange of information is faster and more common for part of our society. Cultural aspects, previously only seen in physical relationships, started to be produced and reproduced in digital media. We see emerging, derived from cyberspace, cyberculture. In this work, we will consider the relationships cyberculture establishes with school agents, teachers and students, and how this can be used to obtain or deepen knowledge. Furthermore, the main idea is to see how, outside the school environment, students can expand the school curriculum. Therefore, we make use of netnography, with a fundamental attention to ethical principles for carrying out this research, solely in digital media. As an integral part of the methodology, we used the literature review as a tool to articulate the results obtained by the research. Another tool used was the research diary, and it contains the paths we followed, along with doubts and thoughts for data analysis. The research was concluded with the collection and analysis of data from netnographic questionnaires and focus group interviews. We articulate the results with fundamental concepts that permeated our research, such as cyberculture, the debate on curriculum and technology, active methodologies and hybrid teaching. The result offers a clearer understanding of the researched subcommunity about learning beyond the classroom. In addition to showing the potential of netnography as an important research tool in school communities.
