Abstract: In recent years, scholars such as Richard Thaler, Cass Sunstein and Dan Ariely have focused on a different perspective of human behavior in relation to standard economic theory, called Behavioral Economics, which has attracted wide and growing attention. The focus of this research consisted of verifying the state of art in literature on behavioral economics in education, aiming, in general, to identify main studies on the subject. For this purpose, 47 articles published in the period from 2011 to 2021, which are indexed in the Web of Science databases, were selected. As a result, it was found that, although no single approach is sufficient to provide answers to the complex educational issue, behavioral economics proves to be a promising tool to be used.
