Abstract: This research aims to present the specificities contained in the film Vidas Secas by Nélson Pereira dos Santos through the reading of this work by the teachers in training of the Institutional Program of Scholarships for Initiation to Teaching (PIBID of Biology of the UFLA). The methodology is based on qualitative research where we seek to understand human relationships in the training process. Thus, the data collection started from a course on cinema and the selection of film plans and their specific considerations contained in the individual and collective training of the group, these considerations were described on a website. And the collected considerations were categorized, interpreted and theoretically based, taking into account the articulation with the base bibliography of this research. With this, it was possible to verify the importance of cinema in the training of Biology teachers as a whole in its instigating potential.
