Resumo: Learning assessment is a key topic to be addressed in undergraduate courses, because regardless of the specific nature, assessments play an important role in the teaching and learning process. However, research points to numerous gaps during teacher training with regard to assessment, since most of the time the topic is discussed superficially in different disciplines or does not have a specific curricular content; The challenge is even greater when analyzing the approach to the topic in Biological Sciences Degree courses. Without this theoretical and practical training, when entering the classroom, difficulties are maximized and students' effective learning is compromised. Bearing in mind this theme and the problem presented, this work has as its main objective: Analyze the curricular matrices and pedagogical political plans of the Degree courses in Biological Sciences offered by the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology of Minas Gerais, regarding the discussion on learning assessment in the initial teacher training process. The research methodology used is characterized by a qualitative study, consisting of a documentary analysis and a bibliographic review. The first section presents the theoretical foundation based on books and published works by authors such as Domingos Fernandes, Bernadete Gatti, Cipriano Carlos Luckesi, Benigna Villas Boas, Subsequently, a bibliographical review of the relationship between Federal Institutes and teacher training was carried out. Finally, a qualitative documentary analysis was carried out, based on curricular matrices and political pedagogical projects, with the aim of observing the space that evaluation occupies in discussions regarding the analyzed courses. After analyzing the documents from eight Federal Institutes of Minas Gerais located in the municipalities of Inconfidentes, Januária, Machado, Muriaé, Muzambinho, Poços de Caldas, Uberaba and Salinas, which offer the Degree course in Biological Sciences, that offer the Degree in Biological Sciences course, it can be seen that the assessment of learning does not appear as a teaching focus in many of the institutions, meaning that the subject is approached in a secondary in other subjects. However, it was found that in some courses there are specific subjects that address the topic in question, allowing the future teacher to have space for discussions and theoretical foundations on assessment. As a result of the results of this research, the development of a mini-course entitled “Assessment of learning and teacher training: yesterday, today and tomorrow” will be proposed as an educational product for students of the Degree in Biological Sciences.
