Resumo
Hoje, a forma de relacionamento com a palavra dificilmente
se fundamenta no decantamento da expectativa. Em seu
lugar, a leitura da palavra é conservada por uma pressão cada
vez maior, que exige daquele que lê uma postura imediatamente
capaz de “devorar” todos os textos possíveis sobre temas diversos,
antes mesmo que a própria relação com o que é passível de
leitura possa se estabelecer. Ao refletir sobre essa pressão que
esvazia a experiência do ler no interior dos estudos da disciplina
Filosofia da Educação, este trabalho propõe uma releitura do texto
A importância do ato de ler, escrito por Paulo Freire no início
da década de 1980, apoiada no estudo de pensadores da teoria
crítica da sociedade, especialmente na obra Sociedade excitada:
filosofia da sensação, escrita por Christoph Türcke no começo do
século XXI. Detendo-se sobre a experiência do ler, este estudo
ressalta a leitura da palavra mundo como uma relação de proximidade
com o mundo, distanciada da ideia de exploração e controle,
assim como problematiza a reação de muitos estudantes da
mencionada disciplina que estudaram esse texto e identificaram
a referida relação com exploração. A insistência sobre essa ideia
nos leva a argumentar que, em meio às pressões para emitir algo,
os estudantes dispõem de nenhuma ou de poucas condições
para renunciar ao impulso predatório no exercício da leitura.
Abstract
Today, the relationship with the word is hardly based
on the decantation of expectancies. Instead, the reading of the
word is kept under higher and higher pressure, demanding from
the reader an immediate attitude of “devouring” as many texts
as possible about several subjects even before the establishment
of one’s own relation with what is susceptible of being
read. Reflecting on this pressure that depletes the reading experience
within the studies on Philosophy of Education, this work
suggests the rereading of Paulo Freire’s The importance of the
act of reading, written in the early 80’s, supported in the study of
thinkers of the Critical Theory of Society, especially in Christoph
Türcke’s work Excited Society: Philosophy of Sensation, written
in the beginning of the 21st century. Focusing on the reading experience,
this work highlights the reading of the word world as
a relationship of closeness with the world, distant from the idea
of exploitation and control, and discusses the response of many
students of the said discipline who studied this text and associated
the referred relation with exploitation. The insistence on this
idea leads us to argue that under the pressure to say something,
the students have few or no conditions to abdicate of the predatory
impulse in the reading practice.
