Medida de copa para determinação da densidade populacional de Cedrela fissilis

Abstract

Cedrela fissilis (Vell.) é uma espécie com alto potencial madeireiro, contudo, para seu manejo apropriado, é necessário conhecer o seu comportamento na floresta. Com isto em mente, buscou-se obter informações sobre o espaço necessário para cada indivíduo e o número de plantas por hectare, para determinadas dimensões das árvores. Foram coletadas as informações: diâmetro à altura do peito (DAP) e oito raios de copa de árvores emergentes de cedro em Floresta Estacional Decidual. Foram testados cinco modelos para o ajuste do diâmetro de copa em função do DAP e, em seguida, foi traçada a linha tangente ao limite inferior e superior desta relação. O número de árvores por hectare (N) foi calculado, dividindo-se a área de 0,8 hectare pela área de copa. A análise de regressão entre diâmetro de copa e diâmetro à altura do peito teve bom ajuste e permitiu estabelecer limites confiáveis para a densidade para um determinado diâmetro objetivo de Cedrela fissilis. O espaçamento para obter cedros de 30 cm de diâmetro deve estar entre 2 e 8 m, para 40 cm entre 3 e 10 m, para 50 cm entre 4 e 11 m e para 60 cm entre 6 e 13 m.ABSTRACT: Cedrela fissilis (Vell.) is potential specie for management in native forests. However, for its proper management, it is necessary to know its behavior in the forest. With this in mind, the aim of this study was obtain information about spacing and number of tree per hectare de Cedrela fisslis (Vell.). The following Information was collected: diameter at breast height and insertion of eight rays of crown emerging C. fissilis. Five models about crown diameter and diameter at breast height (DBH) were tested and, after choosing one, the bottom and upper line of this relation was drawn. The number of trees per hectare (N) was calculated dividing area of hectare by area of canopy. Regression between crown diameter and DBH presented a good fit and allowed to set limits for reliable density for a given C. fissilis diameter. The spacing for obtain C. fissilis with 30 cm in diameter must be between 2 and 8 m, for 40 cm in diameter, between 3 and 10, for 50 cm in diameter, between 4 and 11 and, for 60 cm in diameter, between 6 e 13 cm.
