Além disso, a análise espacial
fatores estudados.
One of the essential principles of the experimentation is the randomization which contributes towards the presuppositions which the errors should be both equally and identically distributed, are met. Nevertheless, not always the randomization practice is enough to counteract the effects of correlation among the neighboring plots and for that reason, experiments are found of which mistakes present a definite spatial dependence structure. A way to bypass that trouble is to utilize a spatial approach in which it is possible to estimate and model the spatial correlation among the mistakes. So, the objective of this work was to report how to implement and carry out the variance analysis with spatially correlated errors in which the error covariance matrix, modeled through a geostatistical modeling, was utilized as a weighting factor of the sums of squares of the variance analysis. With the purpose of evaluating the efficiency of the geostatistical approach, experiments established under the completely randomized designs and in randomized blocks with different numbers of plots. The data were obtained by simulation following spherical and exponential covariance models with different settings of spatial dependence. The results obtained showed that even in experiments presenting spatially correlated errors, it is possible to continue to take advantage of the variance analysis as a tool to compare the different sources of variability. Nevertheless for that to occur, it is necessary for the error correlation matrix to be regarded as a weighting factor of the sums of the squares. Besides, the spatial error correlation modeling proved more efficient, since it produced greater values to the F statistic, if compared with the values obtained by the model which supposed spatial error independence. With this, one can conclude that the use of geostatistic tools in the analysis of experiments was more effective to detect differences among the means of the investigated factors.
