Abstract: This study investigates the path undertaken by the child as a subject-author (COSTA VAL et al., 2008; ROCHA, 1999) in literacy, conducting an analysis of texts written by a group of students from a second grade class in elementary school. The aforementioned texts were produced from a text production proposal written in a textbook, which was complemented by the teacher. Although the focus is on the classroom, the text was considered a social phenomenon. Thus, the production of these texts took place at school, but it was meant to go beyond school environment (GERALDI, 2003; MARCHUSCHI, 2008). The analysis showed different paths of written text learning, which are understood as inherent to this process. The results also showed the importance of apprehending the text in its entirety and the importance of investigating the learning of writing in different situations (text, phrase, word), in the literacy process
