Abstract: With increasing research in Brazilian Cerrado soils, it was possible to use those that initially had low fertility problems, aluminum toxicity and low rainfall in some months of the year. The use of gypsum was one of the reasons that contributed to the success of coffee plantations in the Cerrado region. Biological indicators of soil quality are used for monitoring soil quality. This study aimed to determine the effect of different doses of gypsum in coffee plantations on soil quality bioindicators, and their relationship with different sampling depths. Two collections were performed, with different depths: 0-5, 5- 10 cm. Gypsum doses influenced Microbial Biomass Carbon, Total Organic Carbon, Basal Respiration, Metabolic Quotient and the activity of the enzymes Urease, Acid Phosphatase, and Fluorescein Diacetate Hydrolysis. A significant interaction was found (p≤0.05) between collection depths (0-5 and 5-10 cm) for Microbial Biomass Carbon, FDA Hydrolysis activity, activity of Acid Phosphatase and Total Organic Carbon.
