Abstract: | Several species of Brazilian cerrado fruits, which are still not well known or appreciated, are potential sources of food (rich in nutrients that are beneficial to health). The region’s lack of legal protection and the advances in agricultural frontiers make it the most threatened biome in the country. Thus, this study was designed to implement actions in nutritional and environmental education in order to make citizens more aware of the benefits of healthy eating and sustainable use of Brazilian cerrado resources. Thus, we acted as educators, exposing important topics about health and environment through lectures, which had a high acceptance by students. Thereby, we believe that the knowledge acquired by children will be passed on to people in their surroundings which will raise society awareness about the current state of the environment where they live and the benefits of healthy eating. |
